What if you could enter a math problem, push a button, and get step by step math help instantly without leaving the house? In 2007, Don Sevcik asked himself this question. Don was a math tutor with multiple clients. When his schedule booked up and collided with his day job, he asked himself how he could help more people in math.

Then one day, he had an idea: why not put his math wisdom on a website. Because he was a programmer, he could automate the delivery of explanations. And thus, MathCelebrity.com was born. Asked about the name, Don had this to say: “I was watching the Oscars years ago where they’d roll out a red carpet for celebrities and give them goodie bags worth $25,000. And all they had to do was show up. So I thought, why couldn’t we do something similar for math? We’d roll out a red carpet where you’d show up and we’d give you instant math help like a VIP. We could call it MathCelebrity.”

In 2024, MathCelebrity rolled out the red carpet for 6.1 million students and parents in over 100 countries who showed up to get instant step by step math help. The website starts at 5th grade and goes all the way through college covering 95% of the standard curriculum. The website covers over 20 subjects including Algebra, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statistics.

Don built this website using a custom S.M.A.R.T. algorithm which gets smarter with every math problem students enter. If you’re a slow learner, you could go back and practice with the remedial subjects. If you’re breezing through your current class, you could jump ahead and start learning advanced math. You can choose how fast or how slow you want to go.

You can access the calculators for free using a website or a mobile app. Students and parents can get instant, step by step explanations from the comfort of their own home. This website serves as a supplement to the classroom curriculum.

In addition, you can access quiz generators in over 400 math concepts which grade and time you as well as keep track of your historical performance. The website has practice problem generators which generate random problems when your textbook runs out of practice problems. And when you are signed in, you can save your calculation history to your account.

For education companies and schools, MathCelebrity offers an API so that you can embed the calculation engine on your website and use your branding.

Whether you learn with the traditional method of math or other methods like Common Core, MathCelebrity can show both types of explanations.

Students and parents have finished and understood their math homework in 15 minutes using MathCelebrity. The simple interface gets right to the point. You can search for math concepts as well and the website will show you all calculators related to your search term. Whether you are a public school student, private school student, homeschool student, or a parent, you can get instant math help for free. Learn more.
