CoSN recently released its 2025 Driving K-12 Innovation Report in conjunction with its annual virtual summit. The initiative’s Advisory Board of global edtech experts is composed of more than 130+ members this year, with more than 60 being quoted in the 2025 report allowing you to hear their insights directly.

Once again, this year’s report features three Hurdles (obstacles), three Accelerators (megatrends or catalysts), and three Tech Enablers (tools) in one digital publication. (Browse the initiative’s 2025 Top Topics.)

In the Foreword of the 2025 Report, CoSN CEO Keith Krueger explains that it’s the approach of the report that is invaluable. “Instead of focusing solely on technology as a starting point, it emphasizes the ‘why’ — the Hurdles — before exploring the Accelerators that can drive progress and the Tech Enablers that help make innovation a reality,” Krueger says. “This structure encourages leaders to think holistically about the obstacles their schools face and to envision solutions that align with their unique needs and contexts.”

He added that the Report isn’t necessarily a blueprint with all the answers, but a catalyst for meaningful dialogue. “Whether you agree with the findings or see opportunities for further exploration, the report invites K-12 leaders to engage in conversations about their vision for the future of learning,” says Krueger. “Our hope is that this report will inspire you to reflect, collaborate, and take bold steps toward creating an environment where every student and educator can thrive.”
