Apple adds 100 billion to U.S. investment totaling 600 billion over next four years — The Apple Post

Apple today announced a significant expansion of its U.S. investment plans, adding $100 billion to its commitment over the next four years. The tech giant will now spend a total of $600 billion through its American Manufacturing Program (AMP), supporting the U.S. silicon supply chain and sustaining over 450,000 jobs across all 50 states.

“Today, we’re proud to increase our investments across the United States to $600 billion over four years and launch our new American Manufacturing Program,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook. “This includes new and expanded work with 10 companies across America. They produce components used in Apple products sold around the world, and we’re grateful to the President for his support.”

The AMP aims to accelerate domestic manufacturing through partnerships with companies including Corning, Coherent, GlobalWafers America (GWA), Applied Materials, Texas Instruments, Samsung, GlobalFoundries, Amkor, and Broadcom.

One of the program’s flagship initiatives is a major expansion of Apple’s partnership with Corning, which will establish the world’s largest and most advanced smartphone glass production line in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. The expansion will ensure that every iPhone and Apple Watch sold globally features Kentucky-made cover glass. Apple and Corning will also open a new Apple-Corning Innovation Center in the state.

Apple’s U.S.-based silicon supply chain is projected to produce over 19 billion chips in 2025, including tens of millions made by TSMC in Arizona using advanced process technologies. Apple is the first and largest customer of the facility.

Apple is also collaborating with Broadcom and GlobalFoundries to develop and manufacture additional 5G cellular semiconductor components domestically.

Meanwhile, Apple is expanding its data center in Maiden, North Carolina, with a major investment that builds on more than $5 billion previously invested in Catawba County. The facility supports Apple services like iCloud, Apple Music, iMessage, Apple TV+, and the recently announced Apple Intelligence. It runs entirely on renewable energy from Apple-developed projects.

Additional data center expansions are underway in Iowa, Nevada, and Oregon.
