Apple pulls iPhone 16 ad showing delayed Apple Intelligence Siri features

Apple has delayed the rollout of several Apple Intelligence-powered Siri features, originally expected to launch next month, pushing their release to next year. In response, the company has quietly pulled one of its iPhone 16 ads that showcased a “more personal Siri” with features now facing delays.

Last week, Apple acknowledged the setback, stating, “It’s going to take us longer than we thought to deliver on these features.” The delayed capabilities include personal context, onscreen awareness, and deeper app integration — all first previewed at WWDC last year.

Following the announcement, Apple hid an iPhone 16 ad on YouTube featuring Bella Ramsey. In the ad, Ramsey asks Siri for the name of someone they had a meeting with at a restaurant the previous month. Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence Personal Context, retrieves the information by scanning emails, messages, and files — a level of functionality that will now take longer to arrive.

Other delayed features include Onscreen Awareness, which will allow Siri to interact with content on your screen, taking actions based on what you’re viewing — for example, adding a shared address to a contact card or sending a displayed photo to a friend and Deeper App Integration, which will enable Siri to perform more complex actions across apps, such as moving files, editing images, sending messages, and even handling multi-step tasks that currently require manual input.
