For years, rumors have suggested that Apple is developing a foldable iPhone, featuring a flexible display and a special hinge mechanism allowing the device to fold into a more compact form, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6.

iPIn a post on Chinese social network Weibo, leaker “Instant Digital” recently claimed that if a foldable iPhone ever launches, it could be priced between $2,100 and $2,300.

Instant Digital notes that this would be “not much more expensive than Samsung.” For comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 currently starts at $1,899, with higher capacities priced at $2,019 and $2,259, respectively.

Back in 2022, The Apple Post reported that Apple was testing multiple foldable iPhone prototypes, with the company said to be “carefully observing the market and improving upon the mistakes of their competitors.”

More recent rumors suggest that Apple may launch a foldable iPad first, potentially marking the company’s entry into foldable devices before an iPhone version is ready.
