Apple’s long-rumored autonomous vehicle project Apple Car has reportedly hit yet another roadblock, with reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claiming on Wednesday that development has “lost all visibility,” with it unlikely that the vehicle will enter mass production in the coming two years.
For years, the speculation about Apple’s entrance into the automotive industry has swirled, and Project Titan is the codename for this ambitious undertaking.
At the heart of Project Titan is the development of an electric vehicle (EV). Apple aims to rival other established automakers and tech companies, most notably Tesla. The Apple Car is poised to incorporate autonomous driving technology. This entails the development of advanced sensor systems, machine learning algorithms, and mapping solutions, all geared towards enabling the car to navigate without human intervention
In a post on Twitter today, Kuo said that without an “acquisition strategy to enter the automotive market,” the Apple Car project is unlikely to materialize anything anytime soon.
The development of the Apple Car seems to have lost all visibility at the moment. If Apple doesn't adopt an acquisition strategy to enter the automotive market, I doubt that the Apple Car can go into mass production within the next years.
