Second-gen Apple Vision Pro revealed in FCC filings

The next-generation Apple Vision Pro headset has been spotted in official U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filings, confirming Apple’s upcoming hardware refresh.

Documents published by the FCC reference an Apple-designed “Head Mounted Device” with the model number A3416, accompanied by images that clearly identify the product as a Vision Pro.

The filings include Apple’s confidentiality request, transmission tests, SAR test reports, and WLAN test reports. While no details of new features are disclosed, the documents confirm that the device continues to support Wi-Fi 6, with no indication of 6GHz Wi-Fi.

According to earlier reporting by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to upgrade the Vision Pro’s processor, swapping the current M2 chip for the M4 — or possibly the upcoming M5 — to deliver more advanced spatial computing capabilities. Apple is also said to be exploring a new space black finish, adding a darker color option alongside the current lighter design.

The FCC filing suggests the updated Vision Pro is moving closer to launch, though Apple has yet to make any official announcements.
