Xbox app update lets you buy and install games on your console

by Wire Tech

Microsoft is finally letting Xbox owners buy games directly through the Xbox mobile app.

Rolling out now to beta users on iOS and Android—and coming soon to everyone—this long-requested feature allows users to purchase games, add-ons, and even sign up for Game Pass, all from within the app.

The update makes it easier than ever to pre-order and pre-install games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 or Assassin’s Creed Shadows remotely, so they’re ready to play on your console the moment they launch.

Game Pass Ultimate members can also redeem perks—like the Sea of Thieves Seventh Serving Emote—right from the app. Plus, a new perk for Ultimate subscribers: you can now stream the games you already own on your Xbox console, with over 100 supported titles.

To start shopping, make sure you’ve saved a payment method—only then will the “Buy” button appear on game listings.
