Apple is reportedly readying an updated 24-inch iMac for launch in 2024, reports analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a post on X, formally Twitter, Kuo predicts that Apple will update the iMac next year, marking the first update to the machine since the introduction of the fully redesigned M1 model in 2021.
Looking further into the future, Kuo predicts that in 2025, Apple will unveil a new 32-inch iMac, marking the release of the biggest iMac to date.
Apple’s new M3 iMac is expected to be one of the first Macs to begin the M3 transition, with the update expected to see the 24-inch iMac move to a new 3nm process, offering performance and power efficiency improvements over the current M1 chip in the 2021 iMac, which is manufactured with a 5nm process.
New iMac prediction update:
1. 24-inch iMac refresh in 2024.
2. Higher-end 32-inch mini LED display iMac in 2025. https://t.co/l7jzEecwZi— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) October 17, 2023
The insight follows after Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman claimed early this year that Apple’s new M3 iMac was at an advanced stage of development called engineering validation testing, or EVT, as the iPhone maker started conducting production tests of the machine prior to mass production.
