Reddit Launches New Ad Optimization Tips In-Stream
Reddit’s adding some new, automated ad tips to its Ad Manager platform, in order to help advertisers maximize their ad spend in the app.
As you can see in this example, Reddit’s new ad recommendations aim to provide guidance and tips on key ways that you can improve your campaign performance, based on systematic analysis of Reddit ad response, and your content.
As per Reddit:
“Recommendations evaluate your account setup and active campaigns and provide personalized, data-driven suggestions to improve performance.”
As you can see at the top of the screen in the image above, the main focus metric is a new “Optimization Score,” which provides a summary assessment of your Reddit ads approach.
“Each recommendation contributes to your score. The closer you are to 100 points, the more optimized your account is according to Reddit’s best practices. If your score is lower than 80, the platform will highlight where you can improve and make it easy to take action.”
So if you’re doing all the things, you won’t see so many tips, but if Reddit’s system thinks that you can improve your approach, it will provide you with specific tips and pointers on how you can refine your ad setup.
It could be a handy prompt to keep you on track, and ensure that you’re maximizing your Reddit ads opportunities.
And with more and more people looking to Reddit for product recommendations and insights, it may well be worth considering.
Indeed, Reddit says that 88% of people now go through Reddit to help make purchase decisions.
A large chunk of that comes via Google, with Reddit results getting priority in many Reddit searches, and with AI results muddying the waters in some respects (by providing aggregated, generalized insight which isn’t always helpful in learning about products), many people now scroll down to the Reddit links, or add “Reddit” to their search queries to get these insights.
As such, the platform could play an important role in connecting you with your potential customers, which could make Reddit promotions an important, valuable element in your broader marketing outreach.
Automated ad recommendations, based on established best practices and data, could be a valuable consideration then, and it may well be worth taking note of these new tips in-stream.
