One of the world’s largest and most vibrant standards-setting consortia, 1EdTech is a global community that has now surpassed the 1,000-member organization milestone, representing a more than 20-fold increase over the last 18 years. The organization, led by Rob Abel, Ed.D. CEO of 1EdTech President of the 1EdTech Foundation, recently released their online 1EdTech annual report for the year just passed (2023). “All of the 1EdTech member organizations can be very proud of the impact our community is having, made possible by unprecedented commitment, support, and engagement from market leaders of all sizes and types,” writes Abel, joined by Melissa Loble, Chief Academic Officer at Instructure and Chair of the 1EdTech Board of Directors.
1EdTech Consortium (and the affiliated 1EdTech Foundation) is the world’s leading collaboration on accelerating educational technology (edtech) innovation and interoperability. 1EdTech membership has grown over 20x since Abel joined as the CEO in 2006 and is now one of the largest member-driven technology consortia worldwide. The 1EdTech Foundation is a 501c3 focused on expanding access to edtech innovation in support of breakthrough and evolving educational models in K-12, Higher Education and corporate education.
According to their annual report, this passed year (2023), “was the 18th consecutive year of growth in service to powering learner potential by accelerating an open, trusted, and innovative edtech and digital credentials ecosystem. 1EdTech member organizations are the leaders in shaping the edtech ecosystem by enabling edtech products to work together. The result is better user experiences, greater engagement with tech, data insights, and the ability to scale technology and educational innovation.”
