CES is renowned as one of the leading technology tradeshows in the U.S., serving as a beacon of innovation. After a decade away, I embarked on a brisk six-block walk to the Las Vegas Convention Center, contemplating the latest groundbreaking innovations that are set to revolutionize teaching and learning for years to come.

FAST FACTS

Billing itself as “the most powerful tech event in the world” — CES is the proving ground for breakthrough technologies and global innovators. Formerly an initialism for ‘Consumer Electronics Show’ it is held annually in January by the Consumer Technology Association in Las Vegas. The first one was held in 1967 in New York City.

CES 2025 attracted:

141K+ attends,

4500+ exhibitors, and

CES 2026 will be Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas.

My journey through the halls of CES felt like exploring a box of chocolates. I was “wowed” by the oversized drones that could carry cars. AI was present everywhere, and robots roamed the aisles and gardens, equipped with cameras to capture bird visits. With only two days to explore, I’m sure I missed a lot, but here are a few standout items—some practical and others more forward-thinking.

CleanMyMac by PawportCleanMyMac by Pawport

CleanMyMac by Pawport. This Ukraine-based company launched a new centralized solution to monitor and maintain all Macs across an organization. Everything from battery lifespan to security updates to software updates, this centralized IT solution lightens the workload for any IT or technology team. Plus, it amplifies most device management systems. This practical solution is something school and district technology or IT leaders would welcome.

Booxtory by Woongjin. This is an award-winning AI-powered reading platform that digitizes books in real time via mobile devices. It translates content into preferred languages and offers a personalized reading experience tailored to individual reading levels. This feature helps students with reading difficulties enjoy the process. The platform also includes immersive sound and visual effects, making books interactive. Booxtory will be available for purchase in March 2025.

ARpedia by WoongjinARpedia by Woongjin

ARpedia by Woongjin. A fully immersive reading experience utilizing augmented reality (AR) and other innovative technologies, ARpedia incorporates visual, tactile, and auditory prompts to enhance learning. Its lifelike features and expanded spatial dimensions create a virtual experience that feels very real, making reading enjoyable and expanding children’s imaginative horizons.

ExperienceWonder. This fusion of nature and technology was a bright spot at the show, offering ideas on how to use technology to capture nature up close and personally. As I breezed through the exhibit, the BirdBuddy staff shared that they are launching a pilot program in urban schools to enhance science and school garden programs.

Curiosity Cube. The EDM Electronics booth had a dedicated section where the company showcased some of the STEM tools in its hands-on, experiential learning lab, the Curiosity Cube. Although it’s not technically new, this lab offers flexible yet structured, high-quality, technology-driven scientific learning experiences. Districts can go online to request that the container-box-turned-classroom stop in their town. Curiosity CubeCuriosity Cube

With so many booths and so little time, I can only imagine what I might have missed. If you were wandering the halls of CES and saw something cool, drop me a note! I’d love to hear about it.
