Texas elementary teachers, we’re excited to introduce our newly updated TEKS-aligned math courses for 3rd and 4th grade, made possible by the ExxonMobil Foundation. These courses reflect the latest Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards and are designed to fit seamlessly into a variety of classroom settings.
Whether you’re leading whole-class instruction, supporting small groups, or assigning independent practice, these courses provide the flexibility and depth you need to help your students succeed.
What’s new? Stronger alignment, less prep
Our updated 3rd– and 4th-grade math courses were built directly from the newest TEKS, including added focus on areas like area, financial literacy, and data representation. Each unit is clearly mapped to grade-level standards, so you can be confident your instruction is both rigorous and standards-aligned. You’ll also find engaging, real-world applications to bring math to life. In one 4th-grade unit, students compare different savings strategies through interactive financial literacy scenarios, building essential life skills alongside math fluency.
Support for deeper understanding
Some math concepts—like fractions, place value, and subtraction with regrouping—can be challenging for students to master. That’s why these courses include enhanced visual models, step-by-step hints, and clear explainer videos that support conceptual learning.
Students aren’t just memorizing steps. They’re building a strong understanding of how and why math works. For instance, when learning subtraction with regrouping, students use place value blocks and walkthrough videos to visualize the process and develop confidence.
Flexible tools for every classroom
Whether you’re using Khan Academy during a lesson, as part of a review, or to challenge advanced learners, these courses are built to adapt. Each lesson includes a combination of videos, practice exercises, and interactive articles to support different learning needs.
One student might revisit a reteach video on multiplication with arrays while another student works through a set of multistep problems. With this kind of flexibility, you can spend less time prepping and more time supporting your students.
