Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that barring any unforeseen snags, Apple is on track to release its $3,499 Apple Vision Pro headset in early 2024, claiming that whilst Apple has only said publicly that the Vision Pro is coming in “early” 2024, “the company has been aiming internally to get it out the door by January.”
In the latest edition of his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurman says Apple has scheduled training sessions with retail store employees from locations across the US, and training is set to begin in the middle of January. “Each employee will be trained for two days,” says Gurman. “It’s a high-stakes endeavor: The Vision Pro’s setup process is going to be complex and not something Apple wants to screw up.”
“The device needs to be customized for each person, and a poor fitting could ultimately ruin the user’s experience. Every step will be carefully orchestrated, including how retail employees approach a customer and how they place the device on a user’s head.”
Gurman says that “while customers will be able to reserve a Vision Pro online, it increasingly sounds like they’ll be pushed to pick up the device at a store. Apple retail locations will soon receive new equipment to assemble and box up the headset, a sign that the launch is nearing.”

The mixed-reality Apple Vision Pro headset, which will be available only in the US at launch, will be released in 2024, with Apple stating that the device will be coming to more countries and regions later next year.
The device is made from a singular piece of three-dimensionally formed laminated glass with an aluminum alloy frame that curves to wrap a user’s face. The device features an array of advanced cameras and sensors that work together to enable the mixed-reality experience, and speakers are positioned close to a users ears to deliver Spatial Audio.
