iOS 26 adds a new power management feature called Adaptive Power, designed to subtly optimize performance and extend battery life.
Now available in the iOS 26 beta, Adaptive Power appears as a new toggle in the Settings app alongside the existing Low Power Mode. While Low Power Mode is triggered at 20% battery and significantly reduces background activity, Adaptive Power takes a more nuanced approach.
According to Apple, Adaptive Power “makes small performance adjustments when your battery usage is higher than usual,” such as slightly dimming the display or allowing some tasks to take a bit longer. The goal is to preserve battery life without compromising the overall user experience.
