Apple is reportedly planning to increase the base memory of the iPhone 18 by 50%, bringing the standard model in line with its higher-end counterparts, according to a report from Korean outlet The Bell, via AppleInsider.
The current iPhone 17 is the only model in the 2025 lineup to feature 8GB of memory, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air both include 12GB.
Next year’s iPhone 18 is said to adopt the larger 12GB capacity as standard, marking the first memory increase for Apple’s base iPhone model in two years.
