Apple has announced it will close its current store in the Touchwood Solihull shopping centre near Birmingham, England, on Wednesday, July 24. Just days later, on Saturday, July 26 at 9 a.m. local time, a brand-new, larger Apple Store will open in the same mall.
The existing location, open since 2007, will relocate to the former Topshop unit — a prominent space that has been vacant for some time. The move gives Apple a significantly larger footprint and will bring a refreshed store design.
While Apple hasn’t revealed full details of the new store’s features, it may incorporate updated in-store amenities such as a dedicated Apple Pickup station — a feature introduced in other recently expanded UK locations, including Apple’s Trafford Centre store.
