Some iPhone 15 users reporting crackling sound with built-in speakers

by Wire Tech

Some iPhone 15 users are reporting an issue with the device’s built-in speakers leading to a crackling sound when playing audio above 80% volume, with customers taking to social media to report how the audio appears to rattle and crackle in specific videos or certain frequency ranges.

In one case, a customer took to TikTok to report how despite Apple replacing their device with a new model, the crackling sound continues, and whilst testing the display models at an Apple Store, the devices too exhibited issues playing audio in high volume, pointing to a potential hardware malfunction or a bug in the device’s software.

Apple is yet to acknowledge any related issues, with the company currently working on a software update to address overheating concerns with the iPhone 15, which it attributes to a bug in iOS 17.

Since the release of iOS 17 last month, Apple has released tow subsequent iOS 17.0.1 and iOS 17.02 bug fixing updates.
